Safety

I’m 1st Lt Bob Jarke and I’m the Squadron Safety Officer. The underlying goal of the CAP Safety Program is to minimize the risks faced by our membership in the performance of their volunteer duties.  It is with this important tenant that I have been bestowed the responsibility, the honor, and the privilege of serving as Safety Officer for the Bexar County Senior Squadron. I eagerly accept this role as both a serious and necessary one within our organization. It is critical that all of our members perform their activities with the same safety minded approach, not only while engaged in CAP activities but, throughout each and everyone’s daily life routines.

Remember:

  • Nothing comes before safety.
  • Nothing happens without safety.
  • Safety is paramount.

The CAP Safety program is modeled after the Air Force program.  The best Safety programs involve every level of the organization, instilling a safety culture that reduces accidents for members and improves the overall organization.  Safety is integral in everything we do.  When Safety is part of the organization and its way of life, everyone wins!

About 1st Lt Bob Jarke

I joined CAP for the first time as a senior member in late 2008, having once belonged to CAP as a cadet in my formative years. I have completed training as Mission Scanner, Mission Observer, Cadet Orientation Pilot, and Transport pilot. I hold an FAA Commercial license and am instrument rated as well.

I am employed in the Information technologies field full time but flying has been my lifelong passion.  I enjoy other activities as well, including motorcycling, bicycling, and taking things apart and putting them back together most of the time!

I would encourage anyone who would like to volunteer some of their time and talents to check out the Civil Air Patrol by either coming to one of our twice monthly meetings, or get online at www.gocivilairpatrol.com/.
