About Emergency Services

The Bexar County Senior Squadron is involved in several areas of Emergency Services (ES), including search and rescue, disaster relief, humanitarian services, Air Force support, Homeland Security, and counter drug operations.  At a national level CAP is involved with approximately three quarters of all aerial inland SAR missions directed by the United States Air Force Rescue Coordination Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. CAP is credited with saving an average of 100 lives per year.

To begin working in Emergency Services, complete the General Emergency Services (GES) online training courses in the Emergency Services menu. Once you've completed your initial training, you can continue with preparing to serve in mission staff and aircrew positions. From radio operators to pilots, and everything between, it takes a wide variety of talent and skill to fulfill CAP Emergency Services mission.
